The Diploma of Leisure and Health (CHC53415) will allow you to work within a facility and be responsible for planing, designing, coordinating and implementing recreation and leisure-based activity programs to support, challenge and enhance the psychological, spiritual, social, emotional and physical wellbeing of individuals.


The Move Academy Diploma of Leisure and Health (CHC53415) will allow you to work as a Lifestyle Coordinator or a Diversional Therapist in a variety of settings. The program is perfect for people who want a qualification that will allow you to excel in the health and community services field.  This program will allow you to work with people supported by the NDIS. 

According to the Australian governments Job Outlook service, diversional and recreational therapists are expected to experience job and opportunity growth until 2026.

What will I learn

This course will equip you with the practical skills and knowledge you need to work with people that require support including, knowledge on how to interact to achieve success with your clients, how to plan and conduct recreational programs, and how to confirm physical health status. You'll be assessed through multiple choice quizzes, short answer questions, projects, workbooks, and practical assessments. All the written assessments are online, giving you the freedom to sit and complete them at a time that suits you. Practical Assessments will get you applying what you have learned and can be completed with a workplace of your choice or in a simulated environment with your assessor. 


Your Move Academy trainer and assessor will work with you throughout your program to answer any questions you have about coursework, study materials, assessments and exams. This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan (VSL). If you meet the VSL eligibility and academic suitability requirements, you are able to apply to the Commonwealth for a loan to cover all or part of your course fee. We will ask you whether you would like to apply for a VET Student Loan when you enrol and advise you of the process.
