Wellness; what is it all about?
At Move Academy we believe there are six pillars of Wellness; we have created coaching programs that cover all six pillars.
We feel it is important for our coaches to have an understanding of all six of the wellness pillars. Here is a summary of the major aspects covered for each pillar.
PHYSICAL : This is the first, and most visible of the pillars of health that you will cover. You will learn about the body and how to optimise well-being through understanding movement and function.
INTELLECTUAL : Flexing the minds muscle. Here you will learn strategies to quiet the mind and improve cognitive function through problem solving, processing and creativity.
ENERGETIC : We identify energy stems from nutrition and the body's natural rhythms. You will learn the benefits of good nutrition including the importance of nutrient timing and superfoods. You will also learn how circadian rhythms play a part in the body's energy cycles.
EMOTIONAL : The measure of how well we understand our emotions and the emotions of others. Learn the importance of being able to express your thoughts and sensations appropriately and recognise those of others.
ENVIRONMENTAL : You will learn there are four environmental domains being physical, cultural, institutional and social. You will learn to identify the enablers and barriers that effect well-being.
SPIRITUAL : Discover and define what motivates individuals. Learn how to assist and support individuals to seek, recognise meaning and purpose to in order to engage in meaningful daily routines.
Incorporates the six pillars of wellness with a more advanced coverage of the Environmental, Emotional and Spiritual pillars. The course is delivered online with a workshop/webinar series that helps to reinforce the practical understanding of the content.
The Health Coach program incorporates all six pillars but with coverage of the physical, intellectual and energetic pillars of wellness to an advanced level. You will become a certified Personal Trainer within the program and completion of a workshop/webinar series will help to ensure a full understanding and application of the course content.

Pillars for a strong Coaching foundation
The pillars that build and maintain health are an integral part of our overall wellbeing. Building strong pillars of wellness does not happen overnight. It is a process that takes time, commitment and patience. We will teach you the how to build strong pillars as a coach so that you may work with your clients on building and strengthening these pillars for their future health. Once you have built the pillars it is then a matter of ensuring the correct balance exists between those pillars. The ability to achieve this balance determines the level of an individuals wellbeing.
